Day 2 - Not so pretty

This morning definitely leaves some room for improvement in our whole "off to school" schedule!  As you can see from the picture, it was a bit rough this morning.  Notice the poptart and Brynna's hair! :)

Let's start with pickup yesterday...I arrived to pickup Brynna at 1:45pm and she was all smiles and happy to see me.  Unfortunately, I mess up.  You see on the way to school she asked for her blankie and we didn't have it.  I told her I would bring it with me at pickup.  So, imagine her complete horror when she asked if I had her blankie and I told her I forgot it!!  Well, from that point on, she was not interested in talking with me at ALL about her day! 

We hopped in the car and headed over to pick up Jaden. It's about a 20 minute drive and then we sat in the car pickup lane for 30 minutes.  Brynna was not a happy camper, but as I pulled up to the front I saw this:

 The 5th grade helper, opened the car door and he climbed in.  I asked him how his day was and he said, "It was great!"  And you can tell from his big smile (doesn't he look so big here?).

He told me all about his day and how he helped Cordy open her crayons and played with her a lot!  He told me about lunch in the cafeteria and how he didn't eat everything (big shocker).  He loved the playground, but they were only out there for 2 minutes.  He claimed he took a 1 and a half hour nap (there is no naptime) and he peed twice! :)  He heard his name over the walkie talkie when it was time to get picked up!  He seemed very excited and that made me so happy.  So, I decided to treat them by getting some ice cream after school!  They were both so good, we read some book and everyone went to bed without a hitch!  Of course before bed, I allowed another little treat! :)

And then there is this morning...YIKES!  He was CRABBY when he woke up and wanted to go back to bed so it took quite a bit of effort to get him moving this morning!  He would get dressed or brush his teeth and then he heard the bus coming (he doesn't ride yet) and wanted to see it go by and that got him moving, but we were already late.  Let me just say, I DO NOT buy poptarts, but Daddy sure does and Jaden was more than happy to have that on the way to school.  Brynna, well we basically just woke her up and put her in the car!  Once we got to school, I walked him to his class where he told Mrs. Stern he was tired! :)  Another day down!
