I'd like to say our holiday season started out wonderfully...but it didn't! This year was one of the years for the books. We decided to stay here for Thanksgiving this year. The first one in several years. Grandma and Nana were over for what I thought was a lovely meal! Not 2 hours later...Gordon made best friends with the bathroom. That started out our season right with 1 week of a stomach bug that had him out for the count!
Once he was feeling better, we got our Christmas tree! The kids and I love picking out the tree and it was another good one. When we got it home we started decorating around the house. That's when I dropped the VERY HEAVY stocking hangers on the fireplace leaving several nice dings, but spared my toes!
Around the time of the tree is when I popped up sicked. I gave it a few days and my head could no longer take it, so off to the doctor I went. 1 sinus infection please! Sigh!
We make our way through our sicknesses and move on to decorating the tree. We were having such a good time listening to music, the fireplace on, everyone in a good mood...
Jaden wants to hang one last candy cane on the tree and I see it happening in slow motion! I yell, "Jaden No!!!" It's too late. Our 9 foot tree falls onto the floor smashing many of my favorite (but not important) ornaments. Not to mention, I had just filled the water in the tree. What a mess!
Let's just say...we were hopeful for a turnaround of our luck!
