As usual, this is well overdue! This year for Spring Break we took the kids on a Disney Cruise! It was definitely a good time, but mixed with some not so good as well!
It started out with a ton of excitement...the loved the room, the boat and all the fun! We enjoyed the party to kickoff the cruise (until Jaden knocked his head for the third time on the railing)! The first night was a little rough which made us all a little crabby. The kids slept great on the cruise which was quite surprising.
Some of the highlights:
Brynna and Belle became fast friends. Brynna was afraid of the nonhuman characters on the cruise so when Jaden was saying hi to them, Brynna ran into Belle. She talked to her for almost 30 minutes. From that point on any time Brynna saw Belle they said hello. She even introduced Brynna to Cinderella as "her friend Brynna." One night we came back to our room and there was a picture of Brynna and Belle and it was autographed by Belle!
We saw a lot of characters and many times! Jaden wasn't as in to the characters as Brynna because they were mostly princesses but he did meet Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Pluto...and Peter Pan!
Jaden LOVED the putt putt on the of the boat so we played that often as well as heading to the Arcade!
They
did like the pool area too, but it was a bit cold for us Floridians!
Unfortunately, Brynna wasn't tall enough to go on the big slide around
the boat. That caused a bit of a stir, but we decided to take a day and
visit another country!!! The Bahamas! :) Jaden was so excited to go
to another country for the first time. Brynna was too! We walked along
the main streets for just a bit with the kids. I picked up some makeup
(because I forgot mine) and the kids each got a couple of little
trinkets! Then we were back on the boat!
The next day
we went to Disney's island. Again, it was a bit cold to get in the
water for our kids, but we road bikes, hung out at the beach, ate the
BBQ lunch, danced...and then back to the boat!
We tried
a few shows late at night too, but it never quite worked because our
kids aren't great at staying up late. We always ended up with someone
crying!
The meals weren't too bad either (according to me, Gordon's another story)
Overall, it was fun! We got back and the kids couldn't stop talking about going on another cruise. Unfortunately, it's going to take A LOT of convincing to get Daddy back on a boat!
