Halloween and Thanksgiving!

We have been so busy, so our blogs are coming less frequent now, so I figured I would update everyone on two of our favorite days, Halloween and Thanksgiving.

First Halloween. Jaden was Ferb (remember he was Phineas last year) and this decision did not come lightly. He started off wanting to be Ferb in the August time frame. This changed throughout from Sticker Man (not sure what this is) to a ghost, pumpkin man, and then to nothing. He just wanted to go as himself. 5 years old and already too cool for Halloween.  So, we were really unsure of what he was going to end up being, so I went ahead and bought the materials for Ferb. Steph had some sewing to do, but since he didn't want to be Ferb, she didn't do anything. Then on Thursday night, the day before his costume parade at school, he says he wants to be Ferb. Steph was up sewing his costume together last minute.  With Brynna, it was a little easier. She wanted to be Ariel. She has been both Tinkerbell and Belle, so this was a natural progression. I assume Cinderella or Jasmine will be next year.
We lasted longer than ever, about 1 hour, and both kids had their pumpkins completely full. We Trick or Treated with their friend Jamie from across the street, just like the prior year. It was a great night, Brynna only got scared a few times and Jaden actually walked most of the way.

A few days passed (about 20 or so) and we headed out to Houston to visit Uncle Tommy for Thanksgiving. This is becoming a tradition! The kids were great on the plane, and Brynna had a companion, Bubba Bear. Bubba Bear is her class' stuffed Bear that each student gets to take home and take pictures with of their "adventures." She was so excited to take Bubba Bear on an airplane, it was his first time!

We had a great time with Uncle Tommy, we went to the Houston Zoo, El Tiempo Cantina (Me and Steph's favorite fajita joint), Discovery Green, The Galleria to ice skate on Black Friday (a lot of people were there) and had a great visit. Thanksgiving dinner was great, and on that day we got to walk around the streets of downtown Houston (and sang some Christmas songs with Brynna)!

The biggest thing that came out of this trip was that Brynna developed a relationship (on her terms) with Uncle Tommy's dog, Maddie. Maddie is an 11 yr. old Golden Retriever. So imagine being small Brynna, she was terrified at first of Maddie and her massive 80lbs. plus. After the first night, Brynna began petting Maddie, and then she took Maddie for a walk. Brynna was sad when we were leaving because "Maddie was going to miss her." We briefly accomplished getting Brynna over her fear of dogs, although I don't think it will last.

That is all for now, should have some good things after Christmas!
