Uh-wa Jadee

Every night before bed Brynna ends the night with "Uh-wa Jadee."  She blows him kisses and now he has started saying night-night right back.  I love it!  I love that she calls him Jadee too! :)  Brynna recently had her 18 month check-up (even though she was 19 months) and is right on track.  She's 23ish pounds and 32.5 inches.  We're thinking she might have squirmed for that measurement because that means she's grown 2.5 inches in 3-4 months!  She still talks all the time and repeats EVERYTHING!  She has to do everything Jaden does which can cause problems, but is mostly just cute!  She is still obsessed with pancakes, but she doesn't scream at me for them the way she does with Gordon.

Jaden is doing really well in school.  He actually had his first progress report sent home and he had all 1s (that's a good thing)!  The teachers say he is very respectful to adults and is good with all the kids in the class.  Of course, I teared up a bit when reading it because my boy is so big now!  He's really been in to building lately (even more so than usual) so every day we have to build "The Biggest House I've Never Seen"...translation switch never with ever! :)

So now on to Christmas.  There is a lot of updating to do here, but I'll have to keep it on the shorter side or this will turn into a novel!  Christmas was a lot of fun!  We got up around 7 am and Jaden was so excited to go downstairs.  Luckily, both kids got up around the same time and we rushed downstairs to see what Santa brought!  Uncle Tommy and Nana had to get up a little extra early too so we spent the next couple of hours opening presents.

Brynna was a bit slow this year and had to unwrap, open and play with each toy before moving on.  The rest of Christmas day was very nice and mellow and we had a yummy dinner with Uncle Tommy, Nana and Grandma and Grandpa Robling.  It was a great Christmas this year because Jaden really knew what was going on.  He helped me make sugar cookies Christmas eve to set out for Santa and he was really excited to see that they were all eaten and the milk was all gone.  Brynna of course didn't really know what was going on, but she was interested in opening all of the presents and just LOVED any baby doll or barbie she got.  She's all girl!

Christmas time is even busier for us because Jaden's birthday is just 3 days later.  This year we didn't have a party, but we all headed to Disney!  Grandma came in the day before and Uncle Tommy and Nana were able to go with us as well.  It was absolutely packed!  I have never seen so many people.  Thank goodness it was his birthday because we were able to get fast-passes to avoid the lines at 6 rides which was more than enough for our two little ones!  We also had lunch with Pooh and friends which Jaden loved.  Brynna wasn't a fan and had to cling to either Mommy or Daddy any time one of the characters came near.  We also got to see a couple of parades which both kids loved and ended the visit with a pair of Mickey balloons (which one STILL has all the air...that's a good balloon)!  It really was a great day!  After what seemed to be the longest drive ever, we made it home and had pizza and cake and opened a few presents.  I'm pretty sure Jaden had a great birthday!

---Daddy's taking over the post---
Grandma was in town for over a week, which the kids absolutely loved.  We loved it to, as it gave us quite the break and allowed us to go see the Penguins play the Lightning and get out to dinner for once without the kids.  She got to spend some quality play doh and building time with both of them too.

Brynna started with her first swimming lessons recently.  She's a little fish!  She has no problems jumping off the edge or being dipped under water or going to down the slide.  She loves it all.  It's a lot of fun to watch her as she yells "swimmin swimmin swimmin."

We are now looking forward to ice skating lessons for Jaden in the end of January, and then soccer starts in April.  The skating lessons are exciting, as once he gets good he can start Hockey Lessons...that will be so much fun!
