Halloween and More

Lately, it always takes about a month to post, but here we go...
Halloween was a lot of fun. The kids really got some use out of their costumes. Jaden was Dash from the Incredibles (because we had a bit of an obsession with the Incredibles for a month or so) and Brynna was Belle! They were both so cute and Brynna would run around yelling "picess" whenever we got her costume out. We carved our pumpkins a few days before Halloween and I would say Jaden enjoyed that much more than Brynna. I don't think she was too fond of the stringing slimy orange stuff we were pulling out and ended up heading upstairs for an early bath. On the other hand, Jaden made a HUGE mess out of it while we were tending to Brynna. He was flinging it all over the kitchen so everything was orange. Let me tell you, that doesn't come out all that easily!

Then started the fun! The kids got a little practice trick-or-treating at a little community Halloween party. A few shops were handing out candy so we took the kids down there and they seemed to have a good time. Of course, it was CRAZY packed so it was a bit hectic to get around with the wagon. On Halloween day we got a bit of an early start, but the neighbors were still ready! Before heading out we tried to get a few pictures in the backyard and no one wanted to cooperate, they just wanted to head for the jungle gym. We got one or two pictures. Once we headed out, we probably only went to 10 or 12 houses, but they got plenty of candy. Brynna mostly stayed in the wagon with her suckers. Every time we turned around, she found another sucker and was just happy as a clam sitting there while her brother was trick-or-treating. Jaden really seemed to have fun! He loved all the candy and practically ran to every door where we saw a light! We came back to the house and enjoyed some candy before bedtime. Unfortunately, we didn't get many trick-or-treaters at our house which is sad because I love seeing little kids all dressed up! We're still working through all that Halloween candy we have. Not so good for Mommy and Daddy's waistlines.

Jaden is having tons of fun in school. His teacher is really great about coming up with fun activities for them that start with the letter they are studying. They've made icing, tried jam, made fresh lemonade and a lot more. Those are just the recent ones. We also had our first fund-raiser dinner for his school on the 7th. Uncle Tommy was in town so he and Nana went with us and Jaden showed us his school and classroom.

Brynna has been saying lots of 2 word sentences and a few 3. Some of her favorites are Apple Juice, Hello nana, goodbye, go home, she's moved from mamma to mommy, color (that girls would spend all day coloring if we let her). She's really been in to taking her clothes off lately - not too sure about that one! She also tells us when she has to go poop (even if it takes a while for something to actually happen) so we've been putting . bounce house

As far as we go, it has been quite an adventure with the new house. It seems that every Monday something goes wrong, I guess that what comes with moving into a new place and getting used to it. Some of our fun has been a busted pipe with water coming into the dining room, grading issues with water coming into the dining room, a drain pipe in the dishwasher coming loose, water all over the place, the dishwasher motoring going out and the repair man not hooking up the drain pipe, again water all over the place. We are hoping that we are done with the water incidents along with anything else.
