The kiddos

With the move coming up I don't know when we'll get to post the next blog, so I thought I would send out a little update on the kiddos!
Football is here!!! Ok, so that doesn't have anything to do with the kids really expect for some great pictures! Well, that's not entirely true, Jaden does like watching Football this year! Gordon is super excited about that because he's been waiting for it since we found out we were having a boy!

Jaden is doing to great at school! He actually brought home and award for "Good Listening Ears" on Tuesday which makes me so proud because those listening ears apparently only work at school! On the way home from school each day we ask him what he did and who he played with. Some days he says, "I can't member." Some days we get lucky and get a story about playing at the playground or in the gym or that Thomas (the boy not the train - that cracks me up) didn't sit criss cross applesauce or which shape he chose to sit on for circle time. Yesterday, I pulled out a picture he colored and asked him who it was. He said, "That's God, I really like God!" So cute! Now, I'm pretty sure it was Joseph, but hey he's on the right path! He also asked me if I remember his friend Ty. I haven't met Ty, but I'm happy to hear he's making friends!

Of course, the down side of school is all the germs and sicknesses he's exposed too. Yesterday he seemed to be doing pretty well when we got him from school, but when he woke up from his nap he had a 102 fever. That's the highest fever he's ever had, but one dose of Motrin took care of it and it hasn't been back since!

The cutest thing lately is how Jaden and Brynna play together. Right now they are sitting on the landing of the stairs singing in Jaden's microphone. Well, I take that back, Jaden is singing and Brynna is banging on the stairs with a drumstick! The spend a good amount of time playing in his room now too! I love it!
Oh Brynna...she is such a handful! We think Jaden talks a lot, I think we might be in for a rude awakening as she gets older. She talk ALL the time! Not always words we understand, but she just sits in the car and jabbers or walks up to us and jabbers as if we're supposed to understand what she says! She's always following Jaden around and doing EVERYTHING he does. That's not always good. We're trying to teach Jaden that not only is he being bad, but he's showing Brynna bad things too. That's not working!
It's not all fun and games though. Lately, Brynna has picked up a bad habit of hitting Jaden. If she wants his attention or wants something from him, she's smack him. He says NO BRYNNA, but that doesn't work so she's been spending a little time in timeout. She has some massive meltdowns too and screeches so loud it's unbelievable! One thing she does very differently from Jaden is that she will eat ANYTHING you put in front of her. We've discovered that she loves salsa and queso...strange, but true!

Lately Brynna has been in to reading! She loves getting out these little letter books that we bought for Jaden. They each have a letter on front and 3 pictures pages. Her favorites are the Wolf (which she thinks is a dog and says woof woof over and over to), the alligator and the duck. Ever since our trip to Pittsburgh when Jaden got a stuffed gator, she runs around saying gator all the time. And of course the duck...with the ducks in the backyard she's obsessed with saying duck over and over and over and well, you get the point!
I can't forget to mention Brynna's new favorite thing to do...COLOR! Oh my almost every morning she runs to the closet where we keep the crayons and coloring book and yells "cower cower". Now that's not exactly how it sounds, but really it's hard to type the way she says it. Brynna and Jaden will sit forever just coloring. Every now and then some crayon makes it on the wall or the floor, but I think that's worth it!
Here are the August pictures too... August 2009

And this, well this is just a treat...
(for those of you that don't know, this is our oldest and fattest cat Lemieux)
