Today's was Jaden's first day of Preschool!!! Sniff Sniff! Ok, so really it wasn't that bad. We've been prepping him for this for a while now and until about 2 weeks ago he wasn't too excited about it. Well, this morning he was really excited! He kept telling me he was ready to go to school and I had to tell him it wasn't time. When it was time, I think he started to back off the excitement a bit! We got our big boy all packed up with his backpack and lunch box and hit the road!
So, when we got to school Jaden realized that he would have to stay there and he started to get a little weepy. We had to stand in a short little line of all the other kids and parents dropping off. Because we were on our trip up to Ohio and Pittsburgh, Jaden wasn't able to meet his teacher Ms. Georgeine so this was their first meeting. Jaden wasn't thrilled. They told us no lingering so I gave him a quick hug and kiss and said goodbye. He really started crying then and Ms. Georgeine had to pick him up and take him in. This is how we had to leave him...
Not fun! Well 4 and a half long hours later we arrived to pick him up! He was all smiles and excited to see us! Of course, he wanted me to hold him right away, but I didn't mind that. His teacher told us that he cried for about 10-15 minutes, but then she asked him if he was hurt really bad. He said no and she said, "Well, we only cry here if we're hurt really bad." He was done crying then! She also told us that Jaden had a little problem sitting still! Ha! Not my son! Now as much as I know that statement to be true, I felt this pang of hurt that this stranger was saying something negative about my son (I got over it quickly as he started running like a wild man when we got home)! So, off we went home and Jaden told us about playing on the playground, the new friends he met, that he didn't like Ms. Georgeine (and then he did, but didn't like Ms. Bev the assistant), painting with red paint, and going pee 4 times! I think it was a good first day and the only time I cried is when I had to leave him crying at the door...that was sad! Before his next class, we have a bit of homework. Jaden is starting an alphabet book and today's letter is A!
