June

Let's see, it has been a busy month since our last post. First and foremost, Brynna is now 1! Grandma came in for her Birthday on June 5th, and we had a good dinner (pizza her favorite) with Nana, Grandma, Jaden, Steph and me. Since we had the cake reserved for her birthday party the next day, she got a cupcake, and she absolutely loved it. Right away she stuck her face directly into the cupcake. She followed that up with picking it up and smashing it in her face! Perfect!

On to the party. First of all Steph went all out with this Butterfly theme, raising them in the back porch and we also picked some up at a Butterfly farm (who would of thought that catepillars poop as much as they do). The cake was made special at Publix (our favorite place for cakes) and Steph made Butterfly's out of Fondant to put on the cake. So we have this huge cake, about 50 butterfly's, a bounce house, and a ton of kids running around...while stressful, it was a lot of fun. Brynna loved her smash cake, and even tried to get her hands on the Butterfly cake. We did notice little finger prints in the icing...that would be Jaden, he kept on sneaking a little.
A few days after Brynna's birthday was our 7th Anniversary on the 8th. We got Nana to watch Jaden and Brynna and headed out to our favorite restaurant, Texas de Brazil. The problem is that it is in Orlando and is a Brazilian Steakhouse, so we had this plan to get our money's worth. Needless to say, we did not each much salad, we kept our cards green (for those that don't know they give you a card with one side green and another red, when it is green that means more meat!) for 40 minutes. It was so good but so painful. The ride back was a little uncomfortable, but it was a great time.
Another big day was Father's day, unfortunately I was sick so we just kind of hung out, cooked some ribs and relaxed (my kind of day). The kids did give me this great picture frame that Steph helped them make at Cafe Kiln...it was a great gift.
I was also left with the kids for a weekend, as Steph went to visit her friend Maigan in Indy for her Bridal Shower. It started off bad for her, as she was stuck on the tarmac in Atlanta for game 7 of the Stanley Cup, so I had to give her updates. The Pens winning was awesome! Brynna has never been through a losing season with the Steelers or Penguins as she was born the day after they lost the cup last year. Not that she knows butI think it is awesome! The weekend with daddy was a lot of fun, but the days were long and stressful. Brynna has quite the attitude if things are not going her way. She went to bed at 6:30 both nights, as I think we wore each other out. Jaden was actually very good, and I ended up rewarding him with a toy (Frank from the movie Cars).
Jaden is completely obsessed with Bolt and Willie Wonka (the good one with Gene Wilder). The Willie Wonka obsession is tough! I don't know how much longer I can take the Umpa Loompas. He also has been asking for a Snawsberry. The movie is kind of creepy and I don't know if him watching it is a good thing. Steph says she used to have nightmares about the Umpa Loompas.

He is also swimming a lot better now. He swims with us in the deep end of the pool...he calls it "the deep." He is never at a loss for words, but a few days ago he was telling us a story (I don't remember what it was about, as he is always telling a story about something) and he just stopped talking and said, "I can't talk about it anymore." It was the funniest thing we have seen in a while...just hillarious. He is also quite into the popsicles, and he had a lemon one the other day, in which he responded with, "this is the best popsicle I have ever had, I love yellow popsicles." He is also not afraid to tell people he doesn't like them, which is probably not a good thing. He will just go up to them (they are people he knows) and will say I don't like you anymore...it is kind of funny, but probably not the best thing for him to do.

On to Brynna, wow, what doesn't she do. She walks, runs, says a bunch of words (Mama, Dadda, Jaden (which sounds more like Jadee), Daddy, Bath, Baby (this one sounds more like baba), Kitty, Uhoh, and More), she motions with her hand when she wants more or wants to be held, she makes this noise with her mouth (sort of like smacking her lips) when she wants ice cream, whipped cream or any type of goodie. Oh yeah, Brynna's teeth! Well, she has an interesting way of growing teeth. She has two bottoms and two tops, but the tops are not the ones you would expect. Check out the picture below! She also loves her brother, always giving him kisses and hugs, most of the time Jaden is not too receptive to the idea, but he is getting better. She follows him around and wants to be with him at all times, it is very cool. One day, he'll probably love it!
