Not really, but we did just g0t back from a weekend trip in Houston to visit Uncle Tommy.
While it was quite an exhausting trip, it was a lot of fun, as Uncle
Tommy had so many fun things for us to do. We got in late Thursday night (remind us never to take a flight after Jaden and Brynna's bedtime) and woke early Friday morning ready to go. We headed out to a park in downtown Houston called Discovery Green. Jaden and Brynna loved it! Jaden got to run around with Uncle Tommy (I think he wore him out) and Brynna sat in the grass while the wind blew
through her hair - she loves that. Jaden then found the
water fountains and needed (he says "me need to do that" all the time) to play with them. Needless to say he got soaked and we had no clothes for him to change into at that time, so we ended up heading back to Tom's house.
After their nap we packed up and headed to the Rodeo! This was a great night. Jaden got to ride "many rides" (another Jadenism) with Mommy and Uncle Tommy. His favorite was the tractor
ride that bounced up and down. Jaden was in the front of the car and Tom was in the back, so he continuously reminded us that "Tommy didn't drive, Jaden drive." He also road the bumper cars, Ferris Wheel (he calls it a Wagon Wheel), a pony and a huge slide. We then ventured into the Rodeo and got to see some Bucking Broncos and some roping. This was very short lived because Jaden and Brynna were completely worn out (so were we).
On Saturday we tried to go to the aquarium in the morning after a Texas Style Breakfast (a lot of meat and refried beans make this up) and Jaden became a basket case...he took a 5 minute nap and would not go to sleep. Brynna took a good nap, so after she woke up we went against our better judgement and headed out to the aquarium in the afternoon. Again, this was in downtown Houston, which was pretty cool. The kids loved it! After you see the sea life there is a park outside with rides. Jaden got to ride them all...Wagon Wheel, Train through the shark tank, Lighthouse Drop ride and the Carousel.
Oh yeah, Jaden and Brynna got to meet Tom's dog Maddie. Jaden loved her, and kept on asking to ride on her, which never happened. Brynna on the otherhand was a little freaked out, but by late Saturday night she was OK with the dog.
Overall the trip was great, and we look forward to going back to Houston soon!
