Wiggles, Sea World and Disney

Wow, it has been a very busy last couple of weeks, it could have been titled the "Week of Jaden" as we went on a four day binge of all things kids.

We started this all by going to the Wiggles concert on Saturday. This was Jaden's 2nd Wiggles show and Brynna's first. The one we were worried about being a handful, Brynna, was well behaved as Jaden was the one acting up. This became the norm over the next couple of days. Jaden did enjoy parts of the concert, but he wanted to run around more than pay attention to what was going on. He also seemed to enjoy the grilled cheese (yes, who would think that they sell grilled cheese at the St. Pete Times Forum) more than the concert. We did get a couple of pictures of him dancing, so he did have a little fun.

The next day, Sunday the 23rd, we were off to Sea World. This started off well enough. Jaden got to see some dolphins and Brynna was very well behaved. We then went to the Polar Express Experience where Jaden got to talk to Santa Claus. Without hesitation he ran up to Santa and said, "Me want Big Red Bike." This is all he has been talking about for the past month. After that we went and saw the Shamu show, and Jaden could have cared less. The rest of us did enjoy the show, yes even Brynna seemed entertained. After this show we had lunch, walked around the park a little more, Jaden got to pet and feed the Sting Rays and then we decided to head out. On our way out there was a face painting station and Jaden "needed" to be painted like a puppy. We gave in and he seemed to enjoy it. He looked at himself in the mirror after it was finished and was happy with it, but then things took a turn for the worse. We were heading out of the park and he touched the paint and it was now on his hand...he completely melted down, saying he wanted it off now. We had to wipe the paint off his face while he was bawling. We then got out of there and headed to check into our hotel at Animal Kingdom in Disney.

After naps, that night wasn't too bad as we headed to the best BBQ place in Orlando, Bubbalou's Bodacious BBQ and geared up for Magic Kingdom on Monday morning.

We all woke up early, got the kids ready and headed out (for those that don't know - drive to the parking lot, take a tram to the ticket and transportation area, and then take a monorail or ferry to Magic Kingdom) and we got to Magic Kingdom just in time for our Character Breakfast that we had reservations for. This was enjoyable, as Jaden and Brynna got to meet Pooh, Piglet, Eyore, and Tigger. Brynna was completely freaked out by all of them, but Jaden seemed to really like it even though he would not smile in any picture, also a theme of the whole trip. Jaden even got a Birthday Cupcake and Birthday Card from them as Steph told them we were celebrating his birthday since it is next month.

We then headed out to walk around Magic Kingdom and this is where the fun began. We started off on the Carousel, in which Jaden kicked me off and would not let me ride it. I had to get off to prevent another melt down. After that, he wanted to ride the Dumbo ride. His only problem was he is very impatient and does not believe in lines. A 40 minute wait, Jaden being held the whole time in line by me, and several fits later we finally got on the ride. Steph had to deal with this as well and she couldn't get on because Brynna was too young. Jaden did enjoy the ride, but it didn't seem worth the wait and crying.

Next we headed out to meet Mickey Mouse. This is all Jaden was talking about. We went into Mickey Mouse's house and Jaden loved it. Then we had to get in line to meet Mickey Mouse, and things went down hill (again Jaden does not believe in waiting). We threatened many times to go home and he would respond by saying, "Me go home," so needless to say that didn't work. Again, this was another 40 minute wait in line with me and Steph having to hold Jaden throughout. Holding Brynna was quite a break as she is much lighter. When we did get to meet Mickey and Minnie Jaden would not smile, but he loved it as he told us it was his favorite part of vacation.
After that we headed to the Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor because Jaden loves Monster's Inc. We got in right away (finally no line so no meltdown) and we all enjoyed the show. One highlight was when the lady in front of us was being interviewed and was on the Big Screen, Jaden was in the background. He kept on making faces and moving his arms around and asking us, "What's Jaden Doing," it was hysterical.

We then headed out to the Hotel for a nap before our big dinner in the Castle with Cinderella.

Steph had booked a dinner in the castle with Cinderella, I guess it is a very popular thing to do. We got there, took pictures with Cinderella, and she was the only Character that Brynna did not cry at. She had Cinderella Lips on her forehead, as she got a big old kiss and did not even flinch. We then went up in the Castle to have dinner and Brynna got a wand and Jaden got a sword. This was one of the few times that he smiled. It seemed to be the most fun he had in Disney. Dinner was very good, but it was getting late and past the kids bedtime so we headed out back to the hotel and got to catch some of the parade on the way out.

We woke up the last day and geared up for Hollywood Studios. We were excited about this, as Jaden would get to meet all of his favorite Characters from the Pixar movies. We started off by going to Toy Story Mania, again another line and several meltdowns. We even have a picture of Jaden on the floor with his eyes closed (this happened frequently). Again, threats of going home did not work as he kept on saying he wanted to go home. We all did enjoy the Toy Story Mania ride though, but Brynna slept through the whole ride. After this Jaden wanted to meet Buzz and Woody. There was another line, another meltdown, but it ended well. Jaden enjoyed it, and Brynna wasn't scared! After this meeting Jaden added something that he wanted Santa to get him, "A wonderful, big Buzz with buttons to push!"

Next we went to meet Lightning McQueen and Mater. The rain came down and there was a line, so that was also a lot of fun. I took Brynna under some cover and Steph waited in line until they got up to the front. Jaden was pretty thrilled to get pictures with "Cachow" and Mater.

The last thing we had to do was meet Sully and Mike Wazsowski from Monster's Inc. We searched and searched and finally found them. Another line and Jaden was fed up and he just jumped in front of everyone and went up to Boo's Door prior to the Characters coming out. I had to chase him down and bring him back to our place in line. We got the pictures taken and decided to call it a day and headed home! While it was fun and a lot of work, we were happy to only be an hour away from home...I have no idea how people stay in Disney for 5 or more days...we are still recovering!
