It seems customary now that we go watch the Pens play around Jaden's birthday. This year found us in Raleigh watching the Pens v Hurricanes. I ended up getting us glass seats right next to the Penguins bench. Matt Murray was injured, so that meant that Jaden's 2nd favorite goalie (behind MAF) would be starting in net, Tristan Jarry. Jaden made a sign that said - All I want for my 12th Birthday is Jarry's stick. So during the game, Jarry kept looking over at us and he played a great game. He gave up 2 goals on 34 shots and had an assist (which is rare for a goalie), but our offense didn't show up and the Pens lost 2-1. Right after the game, Jarry came over and threw the stick to Jaden...although it was a loss, there was still an assist on the stick. Jaden walked around the rink and hotel so proud of that stick. He took it to practice the following week to show his teammates.
