Sidney Crosby Hockey School

So, Sidney Crosby has a Hockey School/Camp in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia.  Last year the kids tried to get in, but only 160 out of 20,000 were accepted.  This year, the kids entered again.  Brynna was telling her friends and everyone that she was going to this camp.  We thought there was no possible way...but then the email came, both kids were accepted.

We booked flights to Portland, ME.  Mapped out the 10 hr drive to Nova Scotia and booked a Air BnB in Halifax.  We decided to make this our summer vacation, and would spend 12 days in July flying, driving and meeting Sidney Crosby!

On the way up we went Whale Watching, sight seeing and just enjoyed the Canadian landscape and culture.

Then we arrived...Cole Harbour!  The kids were so excited to get registered, and they got so much stuff at registration.

The camp was awesome.  Skaters (Brynna) got 2 ice sessions a day, and some fun off ice stuff.  Goalies (Jaden) got 3 ice sessions a day.

Brynna's coach was Sid's sister Taylor.  Brynna loved her.  She got her helmet and jersey signed by her and just had a great time with Taylor.

Jaden had special goalie sessions with former Penguin Craig Hillier.  Jaden loved the goalie sessions as it was all about the goalies.

And then there was Sidney Crosby.  He was out in all the afternoon sessions.  Brynna hugged him 3 times, he tied Jaden's loose pad and both kids had several conversations with him.  At one point he said "say flower" when they were getting a picture taken, Brynna said to Sid, "I miss him."  Sid said back, "I miss him too."

After camp we did a little more exploring to round out the family vacation!

Overall it was one of the best experiences the kids have ever had and all the travel was worth it.
