Pittsburgh in the COLD!

This past weekend we took a trip to Pittsburgh to see both the Penguins and the Steelers. It was the first time the kids got to see a football game so they were so excited!

We flew into Pittsburgh Saturday morning and made our standard trip to Dick's Sporting Goods in Robinson to pickup some goods.  After that we hit the hotel and then Primanti Brothers.  Then it was game time.  Our first game was the Penguins.  The kids love a good hockey game and luckily we got one!  It was a great night.  We sat in front of some Leafs fans that were great.  That night they were handing out Kessel mini sticks and the guys behind us gave our kids all of theirs.  They walked away with 17 sticks and a hot dog (picture coming later)!  It was a great game with one little snafu when Iceburgh came near Brynna. She FREAKED!  But made it thru and ended up on the jumbotron dancing 3 times.  Jaden got a great pictures with Iceburgh and loved every minute of it!

The next day we got up early and drove over to Jason's house to meet baby Melia.  Brynna loved little Melia. She was just a sweet little cutie!

We took the T into the city for the game.  The kids loved the ride there but not so much on the way back.  It was C-O-L-D!  Thank goodness I bought hot hands for hands and feet.  We put those babies in and I think the saved us!  I was so proud that the kids made it thru the whole game because at one point it started raining and the sleeting on us! Somehow right around half-time, Brynna managed to take about a 45 minute nap!  We couldn't believe she slept through all the noise.  They both loved the game, but after the late night before Brynna couldn't hang!  Luckily, the Steelers pulled out the win and the kids were thrilled. We finished the day with a quick trio to Burgh's Pizza and Wings (Our favorite) and then I took the kids back to the hotel to swim in the hotel heated pool (didn't last long) and to have a nice long hot shower!

We finished up our trip on Monday by taking a little drive down memory lane.  The kids got to see where Daddy grew up and went to high school.  We drove around some neighborhoods collecting leaves for Brynna.  Then lunch and off to Sarris.  No trip to Pittsburgh is complete for us unless we hit Sarris.  The kids got some goodies and we had an ENORMOUS banana split and off to the airport!  It was a great trip!
