Tough May

May 2015 (and a bit of the end of April) was a mix of ups and downs.  I spent a lot of time on planes in May.

This year I lost both of my Brown grandparents within a month of each other.  It was heartbreaking and so sad, but I had the honor of being there to celebrate both of their lives.  My Grandma passed first unexpectedly.  While celebrating her life we got to have an amazing time with my Grandpa who sat with all of his family around him and told us the wonderful stories of his life from the war to meeting my Grandma to raising 5 crazy boys.  I will treasure that time for the rest of my life.  3 weeks after Grandma went to heaven, Grandpa joined her.  While it was hard to say goodbye to both of them, I know they are where they belong...in heaven with each other.

In between those two trips up to Ohio, I traveled up to Indiana to celebrate my baby sister, Ashley.  I am so proud to say that my little sister is a Nurse Practitioner!  I can only imagine how hard it was to get through school while working and still graduate with honors.  We had a great time celebrating with dinner and drinks!  Courtney was able to join us too which meant we got to see Jackson and Noah!!  I wish I got more time with both of them, but being able to watch Jackson play ball and read a book (or two) with Noah was great!

In between trips up north, Gordon and I were able to sneak in a quick concert!  We went to see Sammy Hagar with Dorothy and Ken (our neighbors).  That was such a fun night!  The 3 of them
knew every word to every song...I knew about 75%.  No matter...I'm good a making up lyrics!

At the end of May, I made my way back up to Indiana to celebrate my oldest niece, Chelsea.  She did it!!  High School GRADUATE!  Now, I know at 30....eh....something, that seems like so long ago, but I can remember how excited I was to graduate, thinking all the fun was ahead!  Well it is, until you have to get a job and pay a mortgage, but we won't tell her that! I will never forget that my aunts and uncles were there for me for all of my big moments and that's exactly what I play to do for my nieces and nephews.  I loved being able to celebrate with her and squirt her with silly string!  I sure hope that all washed away by now!
