Summer Vacation - Our Style

For the 5th time we went to Hilton Head with the Ellis family for the summer this year!  We love this trip so much.  It's always awesome, but this is the year we found the perfect house!

One step back though...this is the first year we stopped in Savannah the night before so we would arrive refreshed!  I think we'll do that every year because it was so nice to stay so close the night before!
Back to HH...This was the first year we had rain almost every day. Luckily, it never really affected our plans, we still managed to play in it and the first night we had a beautiful rainbow!

Gabe and Jaden had a blast the first night staying downstairs in the bunk beds and then Brynna and Anna loved it the second night. Unfortunately, the enjoyment didn't last long! Hopefully as the years go on they will like it more!

The ping pong table in the basement was a huge hit!  The pool was as nice one as well!  This year we played a little corn hole, but mostly it was euchre.

We were so close to Coligny Square this year that Lori and I went to Piggly Wiggly almost every day.  Gordon and Mike went to Java Joe's nearly every morning for coffee.

I also found this AWESOME floating thing that we all loved!  The kids loved high waves, but it was tricky getting out because jellies were BAD this year and the men kept getting stung so no one wanted to get in the water the first few days!

This is probably the last year we will rent a boat as we got it stuck out in the rough sound and had to cut the anchor! YIKES! Of course after we told all the kids to be quiet when we got back, our big mouth Jaden blabbed it almost immediately!  That was a nice $200 we didn't expect.  Not to mention, we didn't catch a think!  A little frustrating to say the least so charter it is next year!  However, we did make our first visit to Dafuskie Island (um wow and not in a good way) and the kids tried their best to catch something.

We went for a bike ride this year too, but really most of the time we just enjoyed the house and the beach and relaxed!  It was fantastic!

 Ooo can't forget this awesome place we hit for lunch one day!  Great beer great food!  There were a couple actually...Bomboras and Hilton Head brewing company.  One of Gordon's many AWFUL pics this year:
