Thanksgiving in Houston

We just got back from a great 5 days in Houston for Thanksgiving to see Uncle Tommy and his dog Maddie.

We got into Houston on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and went to me and Steph's favorite Houston restaurant, El Tiempo Cantina. 2 1/2 lbs of Fajita's set the right tone... haha.

We normally go to zoo on our second day there, but it was 45 degrees. We opted for Dave and Busters after the bowling alley was closed to a water line break. The kids loved Dave and Busters. Brynna won 5 stuffed animals and Jaden had a blast playing all sorts of games. They both got plenty of tickets and were able to purchase all kinds of fun stuff.  We were there for over 3 hours, which is more than enough time at Dave and Busters. We headed home to chill out before Thanksgiving Day.

We woke up on Thanksgiving ready to eat and watch football. We decided to turn on the parades and realized the Houston Parade is 1 mile from Uncle Tommy's house. We bundled up and headed out. We got a front row spot and got to watch the whole thing... including Santa at the end of the parade. He asked Jaden if he had been good which thrilled Jaden.  Brynna said it was the best day ever and that she almost cried she was so happy.

We headed back after the parade for Turkey and Football. Although the Steelers lost to the Ravens, it was a great day!

On Friday we had some options. Brynna wanted to go to the Natural History Museum and Jaden wanted to bowl... we did both.

The Natural History Museum was great for me, Steph and Uncle Tommy. Jaden liked some of it, while our little princess only liked "the dead animals." The dinosaurs were awesome as was the Butterfly area.  We realized the kids need to be older to do this again.

After this we headed bowling.  Brynna threw quite a fit and only bowled the final (3rd) game.  Jaden bowled 3 games and even broke 100. He and Brenna tied in the final game at 105.

We left Saturday morning, but had a great time. One thing I have to mention is my brothers dog Maddie.  She is a 14 year old Golden Retriever and the only dog that Brynna will get near. The kids love her and Jaden was a walking fur ball from rolling around with her all week.  Also, if you see Steph ask her about the incident with Amstel!
